  • Woodward's.. Building Opens
      Congratulations to all participants on the completion and grand opening of the new Woodward's building. Dominion Blue was proud to have been the supplier of construction document printing and Dominion's online ReproMAX DFS plan room. The Woodward's building, located in the 100 block of West Hastings in Vancouver, combines market and non-market housing, along with commercial/retail and the SFU School of Contemporary Arts, all of which are designed to be socially, environmentally and economically sustainable. It is part of a larger effort to revitalize one of Vancouver’s historic neighbourhoods with the addition of students and faculty, residents, shoppers, and other workers. More ►

  • High-density.. Plan to Develop Former Expo Lands
      Vancouver City council unanimously endorsed a plan to create a high-density, mixed-use neighbourhood of about 7,000 people around BC Place Stadium and GM Place on the final undeveloped section of the former Expo lands.   • Trade Deals.. for Green Growth
      Five Canadian provincial governments just took historic steps to address the country’s economic and environmental challenges. In the West, premiers from British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan struck an unprecedented deal to further economic integration and spur clean energy technologies, particularly those related to Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS). In the East, Ontario and Quebec forged a trade agreement that harmonizes several key policy areas, particularly labor mobility, while charting a course for an emissions reduction policy that would comply with the probable U.S. cap-and-trade plan.       The Electronic Recycling Association is a nonprofit organization that donates and recycles computers and electronics. If you have computers or laptops of your own that you would like to donate; the ERA can erase your data with RCMP standards, refurbish it, and give it to someone who cannot afford a new one.   • Kids Charity Golf Classic
      Dominion Blue is again proud to be involved in the 14th annual Building for Kids Charity Golf Classic is being held on Thursday, July 16 at Beach Grove Golf Club in Tsawwassen, BC.

    The Building for Kids Charity Golf Classic is organized through a volunteer committee made up of members from the construction, development and real estate industries. The tournament is one of BC Children’s Hospital Foundation’s most successful and consistently sells out. Last year’s tournament raised $190,000 for the Hospital bringing the overall total raised to $1 million dollars.

    One hundred per cent of the tournament’s net proceeds will go directly to the Excellence in Child Health Fund to support the most urgent needs at BC Children’s Hospital. More ►
