►  What is Reprographics?
  Reprographics is the business of reproducing large and small format documents, both paper and digital. The term encompasses plotting and copying architectural & engineering drawings, signs, banners posters, manuals, books, cards, etc., as well as many other services involved in handling and maintaining documents of all types.
   
►  What is the difference between Offset and Digital printing?
  Offset and Digital use similar production methods of scanning pictures, typesetting and design using popular software packages (InDesign, QuarkXpres, Pagemaker, Illustrator, CorelDraw, etc). Proofing is done through a digital proofing device, and then the proof is sent to a RIP, where the output image is generated. For Offset, the output is film negatives. In digital printing, output is directly to the final substrate (paper), or digital plates are made.
   
►  What does Archive Files mean?...and Does archiving cost anything?
  At Dominion Blue, we digitally store your job(s) on our Archive Server. Should you want to update, reprint and duplicate your job/file(s), we can help you accomplish this.

As a part of our standard service, please note that Dominion Blue staff will notify you if no activity has occurred for 3 months on a particular archived job/file(s).

Archiving Costs: Yes and No... We can archive your files at no cost, but there is a nominal fee to retrieve and setup, should you require more printing and burning to CD, etc.
   
►  What is OCR? And what can Dominion Blue do with this service?
  OCR: Optical Character Recognition is a process that scans and converts your document into an editable file. Files will be converted to a Microsoft Word file. Pages for OCR scanning must be clean.

OCR scanning is not 100% accurate and is not guaranteed. It may not scan some characters, bold type, underlines, columns, hand written notations or keep other formatting details. The process is not without it's limitations and we encourage you to review and correct your document.
